How to defuse the retirement bomb!

On huge demand I am soon going to write on how can one defuse the retirement bomb.



I got amazing response on my last blog post. Some people had seen this happen in their life e.g. cancer treatment for one’s parent leading to huge expenses.

While, some readers were shocked by the required size of the retirement corpus.

Unfortunately, we Indians do not have a choice other than to build a large retirement corpus. This applies specifically to those working in the private sector (now you realize why you are paid more than public sector, and the pay is less in real terms!)



Developed countries have a well developed social security system and medical cover for the elderly. We do not have any such system. We will be left to feed on our own. We are a third world developing country, where slum dwellers outnumber middle class in many cities, and many people die because they can not afford basic healthcare. This is the stark truth!
